~ Vines & Wines 2006 ABSENTEE BIDDING RULES
~
You can bid through an agent on any of the Live Auction items for sale
at Vines & Wines Dinner and Auction, October 14, 2006 even if you
cannot attend.
RULES:
- A completed, signed Registration Form must be on file at the Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County by Thursday, October 12, 2006.
- A Bid Number will be assigned to you after your Registration Form has been received. If you are not advised of the number (by phone, fax or mail), your registration is not confirmed and you must again contact the Foundation.
- You must provide a number to a credit or ATM card which has a sufficient
credit line to cover
the bid(s) you wish to make. The Foundation must be authorized to confirm that credit line. - The Registration form below shows the item(s) upon which you want to bid and the highest amount(s) you are willing to bid. You will be assigned a stand-in bidder who has no interest in bidding on the item in question for his or her own account and will represent you. That stand-in bidder will bid for you in whatever increments are required by the auctioneer. No one, other than the stand-in bidder (and the Foundation's Executive Director and the event's Chair who will obtain the stand-in bidder), will know that the stand-in's bids are for an absentee bidder.
- If your bid is the highest, you will be contacted at your Registration phone number, on Monday, October 16, after the Auction. You may also contact the Foundation on that day. The amount of the bid(s) will immediately be assessed against the card's line of credit. It will be your responsibility to arrange for any pick-up.
- As to who is the wining bidder, all decisions of the auctioneer at the Live Auction are final. Your agent will use his or her best efforts effectively to bid for you, but neither your agent nor Vines & Wines has any other responsibility for the bidding process.
- Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County has made every effort to describe all items accurately in the catalogue or on advertising material. However, all items are offered "as is". This means the property is sold with any pre-existing faults or imperfections. The Foundation is not responsible for the correctness of description, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the property. No statement contained in this or any other document, including the catalog, or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such a warranty, representation, or assumption of liability. The Foundation will attempt to schedule a preview of any item on which you wish to bid if you desire.
- If any "values" are set forth in the catalogue, or otherwise, as to the items being auctioned, they are good faith estimates only and are not warranted by Vines & Wines Auction for tax or other purposes. Please consult your own tax preparer for proper tax-donation information. You will of course be furnished with confirmation documentation, including Vines & Wines' best estimate of fair market value, after the auction.
- Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used within one year after October 14, 2006.
- Reservations for all luncheons, dinner, events and vacations must be mutually arranged with the donor.
- All activities sold at the auction are to be undertaken at the sole risk of the purchaser and guests, if any. The Foundation has made no inspection of the locales or activities and does not represent or warrant anything as to such and shall not be liable or responsible in any way for any loss, injury or damage to or in respect of any person or property, howsoever caused or arising.
- Members of the Foundation and persons assisting with the auction may personally bid, although your agent may not bid personally on the item you desire.
- The auctioneer has made no investigation as to any item and makes no warranties or representations in any regard as to any item.
